Trashed

Ironbark BBQ, who have been firing up the spit recently as guests of the Workers Club kitchen, have found a new place to pop up for April. They’ll be moving their equipment (big, masculine metal meat smokers) in to the The Baron Said for a twelve day festival of booze, carnivorous cookin’ and American trailer park trash.

Lentil-lovers need not apply, judging by some of the menu inclusions; The Britany Burger – pulled pork with smoked macaroni and cheese, iceberg, jalapeños and parsley, or the Atomic Anti-Vegan bun with BBQ sauce. But in an effort to be inclusive to all, they’re also plating up offerings such as mustard miso potato salad and coffee pickled beetroot.

Booze is being provided by Sailor Jerry and American beer Pabst Blue Ribbon (because fine wines would simply not be appropriate). But the event is more than just a pop up bar and eatery — it’s more Like a school fete for liquored up louts, with a program of complementary, bad taste activities planned. Such as redneck bowling, horseshoe throwing, beer pong, movies and projections, buskers and a brisket BBQ competition

Trashed is happening April 16-27 at The Baron Says, 83 Kerr St Fitzroy
Mon-Fri 6-11pm, Sat-Sun 12-11pm

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
