The Burger Book of Victoria

Melbourne is not short of books exploring quirky facets of local lore. We’ve got volumes dedicated to hauntings, colourful crims, union wars, laneways, graph art and oddities. And now we can add burger bible to the list.
The Burger Book is the labour of meaty love forged by a group of friends who shared a passion for burgers. So they decided to scour Victoria’s best pubs, cafes, restaurants and of course food trucks to assemble a comprehensive guide to the finest burgers our fair state has to offer.
Part historical work, travel book and food companion, The Burger Book covers all aspects of its namesake: from the humble patties with coleslaw between two pieces of Tip Top to the gourmet grub being offered at the high end of town.
It looks pretty good too, so if any of those gob-smacking picks are feeding your burger envy there’s also a bunch of recipes for burgers as well as sides including fries, buns and sauces.
The Burger Book is available in good bookstores on via Smudge Publishing.
