A taste of Andalucia comes to Collingwood

Did you miss out on the Spanish Festival in November? Well don’t cry into your sangria just yet, the Robbie Burns Hotel is hosting a ‘Feria de Abril’ this Sunday bringing every aspect of party town Seville to the streets of Collingwood.

In Seville, the fair comes to life with over a thousand casetas (or marquees) set up on the city’s fair ground. Senoras and senors dance the night away drinking, it all culminates in a bullfight and fireworks. We cannot guarantee that Robbie Burns party will go for six days or there’ll be bulls involved, but for a taste of Andalucia it’s the place to be.

Direct from Granada, chef Javier Perez and the Robbie Burns staff will be pumping out traditional fare – pescado, jamon, tapas and Spanish drinks will be available to purchase on the day. A Flamenco guitarist will be playing from 12.30pm before Spanish tunes hit the decks from 4pm.

The website says no dress code, but we would suggest turning up starkers would be frowned upon. Perfect opportunity to buy that flamenco dress or rip out the Cordobas.
