Hungarian and Sichuan degustation

Some things slot together naturally – peaches and cream, pizza and beer, Sriracha and everything. Others take a bit more imagination.
Case in point the dinner this weekend at Collingwood’s Shu restaurant which mixes Sichuan and Hungarian cooking.
Yup. I’m not sure how it works, but they’re calling it Continental Drift and it’s three courses and nine dishes of fusion madness.
I like Sichuan peppers and am as much a fan of goulash and paprika so maybe it could work. At the very least it will be different. Could be awesome. It probably won’t taste like chicken.
Continental Drift is happening Sat 7 Dec at 6.45pm, Shu Restaurant147 Johnston St Collingwood.
TIckets $120 and booking essential. To find out more visit shurestaurant.com.

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
