Sbriga Espresso Bar

Venturing down Little Lonsdale Street lies Melbourne’s newest espresso institution. Bathed in curved timber and with its bespoke fittings, Sbriga Espresso Bar is already a hit with local legal eagles.
A quick morning brew at Sbriga will transport you from the mindset of the daily grind to the Italian way of enjoying your caffeine hit, always standing, at the split level bar.
The La Marzocco workhorse extracts out beans supplied by Allpress Roasters, with espresso prices reflecting the Italian no-nonsense system. Black-short ($2.5) or long ($3) and white-short ($3) or long ($3.5), tea and other assorted beverages can be ordered.
Dolcetti and Port Melbourne’s famed Noisette provide amazing European sweet treats, but Mario’s own bite size creation, the Nutella Dunk ($2) — Nutella sandwiched between flaky pasty — beats a Tim Tam slam any day.
If you are returning for lunch and pressed for time, standing at the bar enjoying a hand-made pizza lingua or panini makes practicing the skill of eating and enjoying your coffee a skill you’ll want to practice more often.
