Dirty Playground presents Hancock

Location, location, location doesn’t just apply to real estate – arts initiative Dirty Playground is all about re-imaging spaces into working hubs and gallery spaces for artists.

In May Dirty Playground hosted its first exhibition at a bar, which is as good a place as any to get arty. This weekend GoGo Bar is the venue of choice as it launches a new exhibition from Hancock, one of Melbourne’s most respected street artists.

Since moving to Melbourne from Perth in 2011 Hancock has collaborated with heavyweights like Heesco, Rad, Boywolf. Check out these examples of Hancock’s Street Walls competition and Croft Alley collaborations.

The exhibition will cover Hancock’s more recognisable street works and more personal pieces. Apparently it’s going to be dark. Expect acrylic and aerosols inspired by friends and freaks on the street.

They’ll also be live music and DJs. If you stay long enough you might even get a table upstairs at Chin Chin.

Hancock at Dirty Playground launches at 7pm on June 16 at GoGo.
