Leila Koren is a director and photographer based in Melbourne who references pop art and online art sub-cultures in her photos, films, art and portraits of pop acts. Leila makes her subjects larger than life, turning them into surreal characters.

Visually interesting people who make exciting music are subjects for her new work of Rock Portraits.

“Working in many different cultures has given me a cultural compassion of the world, and a new appreciation for what we have here in Melbourne” Leila tells us.

While in NYC, Leila did an internship with Annie Leibovitz. She then spent time with celebrity, music and Haute Couture photographer Mary Rozzi in Paris, who increased her appetite for style and fashions in Europe.

“I love making things look amazing and assaulting the eyes” she reckons. Sounds good to us.
