Photographer of the week: Bradley Price

You can usually find photographer Bradley Price sitting in front of a computer screen late at night – pushing, breaking and bending pixels. Price’s take on photography is one that completely encapsulates the digital nature of photography.
“I find the more bent and broken pixels an image has, the more it represents what we’re slowly, but surely, becoming as the world becomes more digital,” he muses. “The beauty of an image that is captured at exactly the right time is undeniable, although for me the possibilities of digital photography are endless. This is why I choose to totally recreate a photograph after it’s been taken.”
Price uses a relatively new digital technique of “data-bending” to create the digitally manipulated images in his latest portfolio. The harsh, glitchy nature of his photography is part of Glitch Art, a movement that explores the boundaries between art and technology.
Price is also a musician and is currently working on a project called Mercucio with Hayden Charles. The electronic duo has just recorded their first EP, which is set to be released this month. Price’s design work will be featured heavily throughout this project.
“Mercucio is our new baby. I find I gain a lot of inspiration from music, and the two tend to go hand in hand with each other. Most of my current work revolves around this project, so this is where you will find my most up-to-date work.”
Normally here at Milk Bar we feature 10 images from our feature photographer, but due to an unfortunate recent fire at Price’s house, many of his images are lost. These are some of the last that remain.
