Raising The Bar

If you like pizza and if you like beer, then chances are you’ll love Bar Fred.

Originally a beer-focused watering hole, Bar Fred branched out into pizzas last year ago and hasn’t looked back since. With over a dozen gourmet varieties including Salsiccia (tomato, mozzarella, pork and fennel sausage, pommodorini), Arrabbiato (basil, roasted red capsicum, olives, chili) and the good old Margherita, Bar Fred’s thin-crust marvels are all prepared using local small-goods and produce. They also taste delicious, are big enough for two and cost $5 a pop (but at that price who wants to share?)

The good times keep rolling with the $5 beer specials, typically a Czech pilsener or German lager. And beer-lovers will find over 80 beers to tempt those taste-buds, from local micro-breweries like 3 Ravens and and Hargreaves Hill to Oatmeal Stouts from Quebec and hearty Trappist brews.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal for dinner and drinks in town. If you do, let me know and I’ll be there with bells on.
