Melbourne-based photographer Tajette O’Halloran occupies her creative hours working on ethereal self-portraits, photographing various artists and touring musicians and creating raw, striking portraits of children.

Targette’s images have a rare, exposing feel with dark undercurrents, and she manages to capture the subtle yet distinct individuality of her subjects.

Having worked as a location scout for the film industry in Sydney and Melbourne, Tajette developed a fascination with the still image. Her background in film is evident in her photographs; as her still images capture a sense of unease, the urgency of a look and the motion of a world that always extends beyond the lens.
