The Arts Centre’s festive line up

The season begins with much-lauded theatre production War Horse. Imported from London, the play recounts a bond between a World War I soldier and his horse, Joey. Most remarkable is the life-size puppet of Joey, who is manoeuvred around the stage by three actors. War Horse offers something for everyone but if forced to choose, bring your grandmother and a packet of Kleenex.
For those wanting to be more gentle on their wallet, consider sneakier tactics. The Arts Centre will hold a Mixtape contest in January. Winners will receive tickets to Blaze The Show, a flashy performance of street dance, and have their mix played pre-show. Hamer Hall Public Spaces will also have a healthy helping of free concerts and readings throughout the season.
