Trap music is the next big buzzword genre after dubstep, and is being rocked by DJs in cities all over the globe now.

It utilises the Roland 808 drum machine in conjunction with resampled rap lyrics, pipe flutes, and gang-fresh synth leads. The closest pop derivative would be Nicki Minaj.

John Boy Holmes, No Name Nath and Penfold will show you how it all goes down this Saturday at the Workshop Bar.

Swag advised, but not essential. Do not feed the animals, and watch out for shufflers in vicinity of the building.

WHEN: Saturday, 17 November, 8pm-late
WHERE: The Workshop Bar, 1/413 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne
