What's On
Political Asylum at the Melbourne Fringe

It’s been such a depressing week in federal politics (Alan Jones! Alan Jones! Alan Jones!***), that even the idea of finding comedy in it is starting to feel a bit alien… In fact, ask the-average-passerby-on-the-street what they think about ‘politics and humour’, and they will DEFINITELY, UNQUESTIONABLY make a joke about how the political world is only familiar with Hippocrates’ four humours: blood, phlegm, and two kinds of bile! The-average-passerby-on-the-street is funny like that, and likes a good Greek reference…
But rejoice! For the comedians at Political Asylum are putting the REAL humour back into politics! The kind with jokes!
It’s a mix of some of Australia’s best political comedians (…which means their jokes will be much better than my opening paragraph): Stella Young, Rod Quantock, Mathew Kenneally, Toby Halligan and more! Plus it’s free!
***(Don’t say this in front of a mirror, or he’ll actually appear…).
