Amidst the exposed concrete and brick walled cafés scattered across Melbourne is Prahan’s newest, down to earth café, moo moo.

We’re calling it the girl next door because that’s exactly what you should expect: friendly, unpretentious service, and rustic, home-style breakfasts.

Salmon, avocado, and corn fritters. House made banana bread with vanilla bean butter. Or, for the ever hungry – the moo moo breakie: poached eggs on toasted sourdough with bacon, tomato, avocado, spinach, mushrooms, and a chili relish.

Teaming with Axil coffee roasters in Hawthorn, the team at moo moo is feeding the coffee hungry souls of local Prahran workers, as well as the mums of Armadale and their brigade of Jeep prams.

Searching for sun? We are too, which is why we were pleased to find moo moo’s courtyard – perfect for long afternoons with our friends, workmates, or simply our Mac and Mr. Moo the cow.

And for the collector of sorts, moo moo also stocks various pieces of furniture, knick knacks and homewares – handpicked by the team from Cheryl Bastow Design. From Shabby Chic to quirky and obscure, you’ll be leaving with more than just a full stomach and caffeine buzz. And maybe Mr. Moo.
