Two Pocket Fairtrade

I drink coffee because it makes me feel good. And by that I mean it temporarily makes me feel less drowsy, calms the jitters and tastes pretty good. But new CBD cafe Two Pocket Fairtrade is aiming to make me (and you) feel good about your cuppa joe for more magnanimous reasons.

Opened a few weeks back on Little Lonsdale, Two Pocket Fairtrade is, as the name suggests, all about Fairtrade  and a fair go at every link in its supply chain, from its coffee beans to the produce it sells onsite and online. Descending into the semi-subterranean cafe you’ll pass portraits from the Solomon Islands and a painted zebra drinking coffee. Salsa music might be playing and the hemp covered stools give an indication of this place’s leaning. Thankfully there’s no incense.

Coffee comes from certified suppliers and there’s a rotating single origin on offer, with independent milk producer Inglewood responsible for those frothy tops. Baked goodies come from Dench Bakers, and over the next few weeks Two Pockets will be introducing a breakfast bar and more food’s on the way soon.

Besides filling your belly there’s hand woven blankets, hand made toys, clothes, crafts and quite a few knick knacks for sale. Plus free wi-fi too.

Two Pocket Fairtrade also hosts regular talks about what’s going on in the Fairtrade world, and it would be remiss of me to mention they also sell chocolate. That might be as close you may get to to guilt-free choc.
