Doku Rai

Timorese for “you, dead man, I don’t believe you”, Doku Rai is certainly a much shorter way of saying that sentence, but by no means any less meaningful. Created over two months on a remote island off Timor-Leste, Doku Rai is a collaboration by Australians and Timorese theatre companies and also the first international theatre production to be created in East Timor.
Conceived during the filming of the acclaimed film Balibo, Doku Rai is a a narrative drawn from the stories and experiences of both Aussie and our northern neighbours.
