Gertrude Street Projection Festival

The sun’s got about as much light as a 20 watt lightbulb right now in our Melbourne wintertime. However, there’s always a ray of light behind every cloud. Lighten up your life with this annual adventure into the possibilities of visual projection art, as presented by the Gertrude Association for our community to huddle together with each other in our darkest season.

Thirty sites get illuminated by award-winning artists and groups, on shops, pavements, trees and entire building walls, as well as other artwork being presented by RMIT Public Art Students and the Artful Dodgers Studio. Expect political satire and environmental issues to be well lit and animated, as inspired by the theme of the festival – Elements.

Established artists on showcase include Olaf Meyer, Richie Cyngler, Yandell Walton, Lindsay Cox and many more visual artists, projecting their mind, heart and souls into yours for the love of it. Priceless.

WHEN: Starts this Friday, 20-29 July, 6pm-midnight
WHERE: 69 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy
