Amnesty International and Red Hot Shorts have come together to present an evening of short films at ACMI, dealing with a number of human rights issues from across the globe.
Five films will be shown throughout the night, including the award winning Australian short film Azadi set against the backdrop of the 2002 Woomera Detention protests, and Slaves, which tells the story of two young children who were taken and exploited by government sponsored militia in Sudan.
Though their subject matter may be bleak, these films will undoubtedly be informative and engaging for audiences, as well as inspirational in their depiction of individuals seeking to change the lives of others for the better.
