A tasty fusion of food and words

It seems people’s appetites are growing not only for innovative cuisine but also for a more transparent documenting of dining experiences. In recognition of this trend, ProBlogger Darren Rowse and chef Shane Delia of Maha are hosting the collaborative ‘Melbourne Food and Wine Blogging Event’ next week.

The event will be held at Maha and feature a panel discussion with three Melbourne bloggers and a three-course meal (including matching wines). Rowse is expecting an insightful take on food and wine blogging.

“We’ve invited a number of speakers – Dan Sims from The Wine Guide, Jetsetting Joyce from Mel: Hot or Not and Hilary McNevin from Broadsheet and The Age. Each speaker comes from a different part of the food and wine writing fraternity, and this is a great opportunity to network. Good things always happen when bloggers get together!”

Rowse meet Delia after tweeting his compliments to the chef following a dinner at Maha. “Shane has great connections into the food industry – particularly with mainstream food writers. I live in the ‘blogger’ world and as we talked about putting on an event that would bring together a conversation from both worlds – around a great meal.”

Delia wants the event to be where “We can all come together, share each other’s experiences both positive and negative and celebrate a common passion – food!”

The Melbourne Food and Wine Blogging Event is on Tuesday 17 July at Maha, 21 Bond St Melbourne.
