Urbanized is the third film in the documentary trilogy by director Gary Hustwit. The trilogy delves into issues around graphic design, typography, industrial design, architecture and urban planning. Hustwit is an independent filmmaker based in New York and London. He has produced and directed a number of documentaries including the 2007 film Helvetica and the 2009 film, Objectified, the first and second films in the design trilogy.

In the third and final part of the documentary series, Urbanized explores the design of urban spaces from the slums of Mumbai to the city skylines of New York City.

Following the screening, a group of esteemed architects, thinkers, planners and artists will discuss their ideas for the future of urban design in Melbourne, Australasia and beyond.
