The paintings in Matthew Bax’s new exhibition ‘pretty little stupid pictures’ were created during a period living in Munich. The works themselves explore domestic motifs, with a particular focus on flowers, through the use of wax, acrylic and pencil among other mediums. You may also know Bax at the owner of cocktail bars Der Raum and Bar Americano.

Also at Anna Pappas, Lucy James is exhibiting new works in ‘after the end’. Using images carefully cut out of old books, James’ collages combine aspects of the natural and man-made worlds. This interaction of objects constructs a fantasy world that relates to our collective imagination.

This weekend is your last chance to see both exhbitions.
