For the city-dwellers of this vast continent, the central Australian desert region can represent an unknown and somewhat mysterious entity and, Lake Eyre, an enigmatic fascination. The new production from internationally acclaimed Bangarra Dance Theatre provides a transportative experience, allowing audiences to be immersed in the ancient wonder of the Australian desert landscape, so distant from the country’s peripheral metropolises but inextricably linked to its people. With award-winning choreographer Frances Rings at the creative helm, Terrain melds contemporary dance and imaginative storytelling in a powerful and evocative ode to country.
WHEN: 29 June to 7 July, 8pm
WHERE: The Arts Centre, 100 St Kilda Road, Southbank
