Dustin Lance Black, the Oscar winning screenwriter of Milk, brings his acclaimed play 8 to Australia after wowing American audiences. The story depicts what happened at the Proposition 8 trial in California in 2008 that prevented gay and lesbian couples from marrying and the ramifications of the trial.

Performed by heavyweight Aussie actors Shane Jacobson, Lisa McCune and Daniel MacPherson, 8 aims to show how the validity of gay marriage is still being debated by all members of society and isn’t a show to be missed.

All profits will be used to support Australian Marriage Equality to help them end marriage discrimination in Australia.

WHEN: Friday 8 June, 7:30pm
WHERE: Her Majesty’s Theatre, 219 Exhibition Street, Melbourne
