ROOFTOP CINEMA RETURNS!
If you enjoy watching movies and sitting on rooftops with 159 other people, then no doubt you’re already familiar with Rooftop Cinema. Back for its sixth season with an impressive line-up of movie titles, this year will see intermissions introduced for some bevvy replenishment, as well as catering by the Taco Truck crew. I can picture it now – me surrounded by city skyline, guffawing at a movie while taco crumbs litter my chest. Hot.

SO:ME SPACE AT SOUTH MELBOURNE MARKET
Not content with dimmies and having a carpark on the roof, South Melbourne Market has launced SO:ME, a new pop-up space showing neat stuff from local designers. Clever clogs include Mr. Simple, Jane, Asuza and One Little Piggie. There’s also a gallery curated by Andrew Chew from No Vacancy. And dimmies.

COCKTAILS AND CRITTERS
Melbourne Museum will play host to New York’s Cross Species Adventure Club this week, treating guests to a theatrical evening of edible cocktails which stylishly and humorously explore the gastronomic, economic and material interdependency on other creatures. The Cross Species Adventure Club is the brain child of US based artist Natalie Jeremijenko and modernist chef Mihir Desai.

CHICKEN OR THE EGG?
Thursday’s seem like a rotation of open exhibitions and free beer. This week the home of Egg Gallery will open its doors for ‘Same Time Tomorrow’, a group show by Lashna Tuschewski, Katie P Gandrabur & Kimberly Denson. They’ll be exhibiting their latest works and what not.

HEAD FULL OF SNAKES

BOARD SKATEBOARD DESIGN
Ex-pro skater Tony Hallam has combed the earth sniffing out some of the rarest and most important boards in skating history. His comprehensive collection, currently displayed at the NGV, allows us to follow the evolution of skate culture from its origins in surfing and its merging with other subcultures. The exhibition, which features live deck design demonstrations, is something anyone interested in skate culture can’t afford to miss.
