Mad Men at the Mall
In perhaps the least fitting venue to show off the refined, one-off garments from an era before mass-produced clothes and McValue meals, Chadstone Shopping Centre is hosting an exclusive exhibition on the fashion of Mad Men. Curated by Mad Men’s costume designer Janie Bryant, ‘Icons on Style’ features original costumes from the series that makes you want to smoke and drink martinis at work. They’ll be Betty’s Grace Kelly cupcake dresses, Joan’s Monroe-esque pencil skirts and of course The Don’s dapper suits.

Blues Brothers Shakedown
Before the Westgarth was the Westgarth it was The Valhalla, an arthouse cinema famed for its Blues Brothers and Rocky Horror screenings, where die-hard fans would rock up in costume and recite the lines and probably drink some. Well, now there’s another place you can clip on those skinny ties and shades. This Saturday the Nova hosts a special late night screening of Blues Brothers, they’ll be music, ‘blues’ cocktails, dancing and prizes as you channel your inner Jake and Elwood Blues.

Dylan’s Time to Wine
The master of the (drunken or otherwise) rant, Dylan Moran is back again for more wild hand gestures and brutal truths at the Palais Theatre this weekend. If you love his generally annoyed vibe, hilarious take on life or even just remember him from Black Books, you’ll dig his new show ‘Yeah Yeah’. The price is a little off-putting, but a Dylan Moran show is a must-see and if you haven’t seen one yet, the time is now.
