Say ‘Cheese’ to Charlie’s Fine Food Cookies

Lockdown 4.0 has been a tough one for Melburnians. It’s freezing, dark by 6pm, and the novelty of home workout apps has long worn off. One way to combat the stark wintry nights is to tuck into some yummy snacks and binge on a new show. Younger or Handmaid’s Tale, amiright? Enter the new range of Mini Cheese Bites from Charlie’s Fine Food Co. They may be one of the best finds on your closest Woolworths shelf.

Available in three flavours, these crispy delights are the perfect addition to a grazing platter, an after-work snack or something to munch on just to get you through. Choose from Three Cheeses loaded with tasty cheese, parmesan and gouda cheese; Cheddar and Rosemary, described as a very grown-up biccie; or the Italian-inspired Parmesan and Tomato that captures the mood of an afternoon under the Tuscan sun.

‘Charlie’s Mini Cheese Bites can be devoured with a scoop of dip, a chunk of cheese, or with condiments. You can even eat them by themselves,’ says Charlie’s founder Jacky Magid.

What’s the verdict? The Mini Cheese Bites are a crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth type of biscuit. For this avid snack lover, I devoured the Parmesan and Tomato solo, paired the Cheddar and Rosemary with some quince paste, soft brie and carrots, and accompanied the Three Cheeses with a glass (or two) of Shiraz. Out of the three, my favourite two were the Cheddar and the Parmesan and Tomato. They hit the spot and were very addictive!

For over 25 years, Charlie’s have been an Australian staple and are beloved for their gourmet cookies and treats. The range of cookies are available for a neat $3.99. Add it to your shopping list this winter and make it a staple item in your home!
