Welcome to Ballers Clubhouse Carlton – a fun, cutting-edge and unforgettable adult playground purposely designed as a hedonist oasis. Situated on Elgin Street, the two-storey fun-house is an unparalleled hospitality and entertainment venue fashioned with a delectable food and cocktail menu, an electrifying fit-out and a bevy of games. Milk Bar attended the glamorous opening night event in July, which included an appearance by Real Housewives of Melbourne’s Gamble Breaux, scrumptious appetisers and drinks, and a game or two of NeoShuffle and social darts. Colour me obsessed.

Building on from its inaugural location in the CBD, Ballers Clubhouse Carlton takes competitive socialising to a digital-first environment. Among the many Australian firsts are the addictive game of NeoShuffle and the ball pit karaoke room – which is exactly what it sounds like. Designed for two to eight players, NeoShuffle takes the century-old shuffleboard game and modernises it by infusing 360-degree cameras to record all the action, supercharges gameplay, and enabling auto-scoring. Couples or teams can try their luck on the board playing variations like curling and blackjack. If you are known for your competitive streak, challenge your mates to a game of ping pong, 360 pong, social darts or cool pool. TVs are dotted around the game zones to applaud (or condemn) your efforts through pop culture gifs.

The gamified cocktail list ranges from the colourful and old faithful Fruit Tingle, the Boozy Banana and the Drunken Monkey. I would recommend the Sip Happens, a beautiful concoction of Milagro Tequila, watermelon and mint, Cointreau and lime; a very refreshing drink. My second choice would be the Tart Treat, a mix of Citron Grey Goose, limoncello, tarte citron, lemon and caramelised ginger honey. Finally, you can’t go past the Safe Cracker Cocktail – The Houdini’s Escape. This unique drink is served in a miniature safe. Crack the code to free Houdini trapped in ice and unlock your old-fashioned reward. Overcome the challenge and celebrate with a complimentary Baller signature shot.

The food list features a range of delicious appetisers designed to share while you take a break from all the games including ping pong chicken, cheeseburger spring rolls and nori calamari. Feel like making a night of it? Ballers have you covered with their range of crowd-friendly pizzas and sliders, available in traditional beef, tofu, BBQ pulled pork, chicken schnitty and mushroom options.

Ballers Clubhouse Carlton is the brainchild of self-proclaimed bar czars Josh Lefers and Stephen Wools of the Superverse Group, alongside Simon Jones, founder of Fun Lab, and Chris Roberton.

Pencil in a visit to Ballers Clubhouse Carlton for an ultimate night of fun, good banter, impressive game options and luscious drinks.
