We’re well and truly knee-deep into the festive season. After a rather ho-hum 2021, now is the perfect time to unite with friends, family and loved ones over a few cold bevs, some piping tunes and a decadent spread of delicacies. For the designated drivers or those who opt for a drink without the spice, Athletic Brewing Co.’s range of non-alcoholic craft beers do, indeed, hit the spot.

Self-described pioneers, Athletic Brewing spawned from a college experience in Vermont morphing into a global offering of delicious craft beers for the modern drinker to enjoy. Without stating the obvious, these brews allow you to enjoy the refreshing taste of beer – especially on a balmy summer’s day – without the alcohol content or the regrettable hangover.

Creating non-alcoholic beer since 2017, the US-based brewery’s ethos is centred on the notion that people shouldn’t have to sacrifice their ability to be healthy and active to consume and enjoy great beer. Its aim to make a positive impact on their customers’ health and happiness stretches beyond the consumer in the arena of sponsorship and backing key athletes.

Now available in Australia, punters can choose between the Upside Dawn Golden Ale and the Run Wild IPA. So, how do they stack up against their booze-filled counterparts in the bottle shop? Milk Bar recently sampled both and was left satisfied by the clean, quenching taste. The Golden Ale was light-bodied and had subtle hints of floral and earthy notes. The IPA was hoppy and was easier to drink of the two. They’re also both vegan. It was a great addition to a fish and chip dinner on the deck in the middle of #goldenhour.

If you need a healthier, bitey and flavoursome non-alcoholic beer option this Christmas, think Athletic Brewing Co.
