Sunshine Short Film Festival 2016

The many film festivals Melbourne hosts that present films from around the world are truly something to admire. However, the Sunshine Short Film Festival is all about films made locally, specifically in the western suburb of Sunshine (obviously).

Made by filmmakers from all levels, these short films made by Sunshine locals in Sunshine and its surrounding suburbs. The first category of the night is films made by primary school students, with the following category containing films made by secondary school students (whose films may remind you of your high school Media classes). The Open Category showcases films made by anyone outside the school system by older local filmmakers.

Seeing known sights from around the western suburbs such as the statue outside Sunshine Marketplace, the Olympic Donuts shop at Footscray Station, and the various schools around the area will be a treat for the audience who will no doubt be familiar with these places.

Although the festival undoubtedly got many submissions, the event will be showcasing all the finalists that have made it through. So if you live in or around Sunshine, why not see what the local film-making talent has to offer?
