“Dicky Rosenthal” (Josh Glanc), motivational speaker and expert on manliness, has arrived in Australia. We caught up with the sensation between bench-pressing and slurping protein shakes to talk about his new show and find out what makes real men tick.

Dicky Rosenthal, your new show premiering in Australia is about how to be a real man, what do you think makes a man real? And how did you become an expert in this area?
First of all, I’m a real man, so I know exactly what makes a man a real man: they have to be strong and muscly, successful and irresistible to women. Not a lot of men have those qualities, but I do, so I’m uniquely qualified to speak on the topic.

What can Australian men do to be more manly?
Mostly, they can stop acting like little dweeb bags sipping soy lattes and start sipping on protein shakes to build muscle.

What inspired you to be a motivational speaker?
Well, I was once a dweeb bag myself, you know, weak and pathetic. I’ve spent a long time working out what I needed to do in order to be a real man, and now that I’ve got the key I’ve got to share it with dweeb bags everywhere.

What do you expect your audience to take away from the seminar?
That I am a real man and if they try, maybe they can be a real man too – but they’ll mostly understand that I am a real man.

Do believe real men should cry or show their emotions?
No. Pathetic.

Do you have a favourite “manly” song?
Of course there is ‘You’re The Best’ from The Karate Kid movie, but I also really love to listen to ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’ by Carol King.

What is your life motto?
Be a real man. period.

Do you advise women to come to your show?
Hmm.. interesting question. I’d love everyone to see my show because I get to show them what a real man I am.

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
