The cheeseboard has basically become a staple for any kind of hangout, whether it be a picnic, BBQ or cute date. People employ different tactics to achieve a well-rounded and pleasing spread. One soft, one firm. Some are all about the textures. Others opt for a fragrant blue. At LaManna in Essendon Fields, all your cheesy dreams come to life in Melbourne’s first cheese laboratory.
Along with That’s Amore Cheese, LaManna supermarket gives shoppers and turophiles the opportunity to watch cheese being handmade in an exciting display. Have you ever eaten fresh mozzarella that is so fresh that it is still warm? Well, this is your chance to sample and purchase cheese made mere minutes prior. The variety of cheeses available include mozzarella, bocconcini, burrata and trecce. Seriously, I cannot emphasise how mouth-watering these cheeses are!
‘That’s Amore Cheese is really excited to be bringing Victoria’s first cheese laboratory to LaManna. We [make] our cheeses in our factory every day, so to be able to work with the LaManna team to give the public the opportunity to watch it being handmade in-store is really rewarding,’ says That’s Amore Cheese founder and director, Giorgio Linguanti.
A staple for many shoppers, LaManna is known for their passion for food and family. Patrick LaManna, CEO of LaManna, believes food is the way to bring family together and create lasting memories.
Milk Bar’s visit to LaManna was certainly memorable. Be sure to look out for the cheese lab during your next visit.
