Jude Perl: Part Of This Complete Breakfast

Following her album launch, Jude Perl will strap her comedian boots on once again as she performs as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF), starting March 23rd.
Returning to The Butterfly Club from her sold out gigs at last year’s festival, Perl told Milk Bar that it is one of the most accommodating venues in Melbourne.
“Firstly, the staff there are the nicest people in the world. They are genuinely so lovely”, she explained. “I feel like they are just so supportive of people coming there with new ideas and they want to do something different, which a lot of venues understandably can’t accommodate.”
Perl’s album and new comedy show Part of This Complete Breakfast are completely intertwined.
“If you listen to the album and see the comedy show it gives you this full circle of what it’s all about”.
Her show delves into her passionate views about the relationship between the music industry and advertising.
“It’s all about how I am a jingle writer and I work for this Sugar Company and I’m trying to release an album and they keep kind of vaguely pushing me away from doing that. It’s just a ridiculous, silly, adventure of being in the world of advertising and trying to move away into serious music”.
It was obvious to Perl that she would return again this year for the MICF, as she boasts that it is such a great festival to be a part of.
“It’s such a great festival. I love that time of year around Melbourne, it’s so buzzy. You walk around the city and you’re running into comedians everywhere and it’s just so exciting”.
Perl suggests that The Butterfly Club isn’t just a great venue to perform, but a perfect place to take someone on a date.
“It’s the kind of place if you are going on a date, it’s a really good place to go if you’re trying to impress someone – it makes you look really cool”.
Date night at Jude Perl’s Comedy show? I think yes!
