Bike Buller Pump Track Sessions

Did someone say you could experience beer, tacos, live music, the Mt Buller pump track and the chance to win $1000 in cash all at the one place in heart of Melbourne?

That’s right! Bike Buller has brought their famous indoor track to Melbourne for what they call, ‘hump day, pump day’.

To help you get through your midweek blues, Bike Buller are offering 3 exclusive nights for you to fly around the track to experience the thrill for yourself.

I’ve never really associated myself with BMXs and mountain bikes, but the buzzing atmosphere within a huge industrial warehouse was something that has to be experienced. I was surprised with the range of ages at the Mt Buller pump track on the Wednesday night, with kids from the age 10 or under who can barely stand up on their bikes peddling around the track, to adventurous adults who flew around the track in a blink of an eye, this event is for all ages.

Although the speed, tricks and crashes in the open sessions were exciting to sit back and watch while sipping on a Bridge Road brewery pale ale and munching on some nachos, it wasn’t until the pump track competition started that things started to get heated!

Starting with 32 competitors, two people at a time on the track, one pedal stroke, two flying laps of the track and the first to cross the line without falling off moves onto the next heat until the final two competitors. With the winner walking away with $1000 cold hard cash, the competitors got their pump on. One thing was for sure, it was one of the quickest and easiest ways to add a few more dollars to the bank account.

This was one of the most unique events I’ve ever been to, with people from all walks of life, always up for a chat. Well, with the event been and gone, it looks like you’ll have to wait until next year to experience this great event… Oh wait… Buller Bike are that keen for you to experience ‘hump day, pump day,’ they will run the event again on the 14th of October and 18th of November!
