Malbec World Day

As the days get shorter and the temperature dips its time to turn to hearty red wines to keep us comforted.
Peruse any liquor store and they’ll be more cab savs and merlots than you can poke a stick at, but how about trying something else out, something for a far-off and exotic land?
Coincidentally this Thursday is Malbec World Day, and the good people from Bottle Shop Concepts are putting together an event called Gauchito Gil, where you can try over 80 varieties of the Argentine red.
But there’s more. What would Malbec World Day be without liberal lashings of Tango and a good old-fashioned empanada cook off? Not a bad way to kick off the very long weekend.
Malbec World Day is happening Thursday 17 April from 5.30pm, Ormond Hall, 557 St Kilda Rd.
Tix $35 and include a take home wine glass. To book visit eventbrite.com.au.
