Australian artist Yvonne Audette made quite a mark in New York and Europe’s art scenes when her work took the art world by storm, quite an extraordinary feat in the male oppressed society of the 1950s. Yet she wasn’t fully recognised in her native country until her work was shown at the National Gallery of Victoria in the mid-1990s! Though Audette probably thought “About bloody time!” when that happened, her abstract canvasses will be displayed at the Mossgreen Gallery to leave Aussie art lovers in awe once again.
