Before there was Barbie, there was Bild-Lilli. Based upon a hard drinking, smoking hot and sassy tabloid cartoon, Lilli in Hamburg’s newspaper Bild. During production, Bild-Lilli became a very popular German men’s toy, which in a severe twist of ironic economies now delights little girls worldwide.
Lull Studios is taking us back to the ’50s to tell the tale of Bild-Lilli’s hardships and triumphs, with a poetic mash-up of live art and song.
