Late Bit presents 8-bit music at its finest. The soundtrack is set for Games Masters, an exhibition dedicated to celebrate the achievements of classic games designers.
Each Thursday evening, Late Bit will be showcasing their stable of electronic musicians for your listening pleasure. On the launch night (Thursday, 28 June), ABC TV Good Game hosts – Bajo and Hex – will reside over a night of gaming tournaments with kickass music from Catcall, Mintendo and DJ Supermelody.
Resident DJs will appear every Thursday (6pm onwards) after the launch, featuring Two Bright Lakes DJs for all July dates, and DJ Miss Butt on August Thursdays. The nights are free, with Sept-Oct artists announced soon on the website.
There will also be two specials:
- ‘Versus’ on 26 July, featuring polarities between different aesthetics of sound (e.g. “cool” vs “nerd”), featuring TBL DJs vs Space Cactus and Guerre;
- ‘Game Girls’ on 30 August, a feminine tilt on tunes and games, featuring DJ Whiskey Houston, Piklet, and Seja.
WHEN: Every Thursday, 28 June – 30 August, 6pm-9pm
WHERE: ACMI, Federation Square (opposite Flinders Street Station)
