Melbourne MP3 of the Week: Gold Teeth by Electric Sea Spider
Posted by Jonty Thompson
15. Jul, 2011
One thing that can be said about the inhabitants of our fair city is that we are used to change. And one person that encapsulates the “That’s Melbourne!” mantra is Jim Sellars AKA Electric Sea Spider.
Watching Jim perform is akin to remembering fragments of an amazing night out. He uses samples and loops from funk, soul, hip-hop and pop that all sound intensely familiar to create a constantly evolving and undulating piece of music.
Electric Sea Spider will be performing with world-renowned artists Nosaj Thing and TokiMonsta for The Operatives’ ‘Espionage‘ event, which in itself is an impressive accomplishment, but made even more impressive by the fact that he was born in the 90’s!
