Where the truck at?

Melbourne’s ever growing appetite for food on four wheels became official last weekend with the launch of ‘Where The Truck At’, a nifty new website that plots where our fair city’s food trucks will be on any given day of the year.

Developed by local clever clogs Xavier Verhoeven and Tom Kinsman, who spent weekends coding (and taste-testing) the wares of the trucks they’re tracking, the website covers all the usual suspect from Taco Truck and Gumbo Kitchen to Le Sausage and Grub Food Truck.

Updated every afternoon, it’s sort of like a modern day take on the hunter gatherer system. Ancient man used to survey the savannah for swift-footed antelope, we survey Google for slow moving trucks. That’s evolution.

One day there might even be a website that allows you to book your meal ahead, or go to the food truck with the shortest line, or make the food truck come to you. One day…
