Originating from South Africa, RocoMamas has opened up shop right here on Melbourne’s very own Chapel Street. This is Melbourne’s first taste of the ‘smash burger’ variety and you will not be disappointed with what RocoMamas have to offer. The neon lights, great vibes and groovy music make RocoMamas a perfect new addition to the thriving Chapel Street cuisine scene.

If it’s your first time at RocoMamas, the friendly staff will take the time to explain how everything works, show you how to order and are also happy to make recommendations. You really are made to feel at home!

Now to the food.

The sous vide baby rack ribs – excuse the cliché – were to die for. The homemade barbeque sauce and slowly cooked meat were the key to creating perfection.

Although, if the ribs aren’t for you, RocoMamas offer a new range of what they call, ‘smash burgers’. Each burger is rolled and smashed on to the grill, keeping the meat juicy and tender. All of the burgers on the menu can be made using beef or chicken or vegetarian, catering to most people.

The Classic Cheese Smash Burger is your classic cheese burger, with Wisconsin Cheddar, sweet pickles, tomato, onion and RocoMamas special sauces. The limited edition promo burgers currently on offer include The Slacker, The Alfie and The Clubster. If you are after something extra cheesy, The Alfie comes with 150 grams of beef smash, aged cheddar, parmesan cheese, mac ‘n’ cheese puck, Italian relish and Roco mayo.

Just to make the experience that little bit better, be sure to order at least one of the sides. The onion rings, loaded fries, wings, mac ‘n’ cheese pucks or the salads are a great addition.

Rest assured, you will never leave RocoMamas feeling unsatisfied.

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
