It’s that time of year again: BOM forecasts are creeping upwards of 22 degrees, hayfever sufferers are stocking up on Telfast, and festivals and markets are all the rage, even more so than usual in Melbourne.

Amongst the many, the East Malvern Food & Wine Festival will be returning to Central Park in, you guessed it, East Malvern on Sunday, 19 November. This is the second annual instalment after last year’s was a smash hit with over 3000 Melbournians flocking to the festival to enjoy local and regional food and wine.

The major gourmet food and beverage event celebrating local businesses in the East Malvern, Bendigo and Heathcote regions will include wineries from more than 15 Bendigo and Heathcote regions and a new local craft beer and cider producer alley, where festivalgoers will be able to speak to and learn from the winemakers and brewers as well as taste and purchase their wines and ales whilst feasting from an array of top-notch Melbourne food trucks and pop-up restaurant stalls.

Artisanal Victorian producers will also be present at Central Park for those who’d like to stock up on locally produced cheeses (drool), condiments and festive season fare such as bespoke Christmas puddings.

Babies and children of all kinds will be catered to, and by that I mean that the Canine Wellness Truck will be present to provide your fur babies/children with gourmet doggie morsels. For humans, there will be roving entertainers, live music performances and magician master classes.

Entry to the festival is free, although there are some stellar tasting glasses and ticket packages available for purchase at the event. To check out the line-up of stallholders, go to their website and don’t forget to follow Milk Bar Mag’s Instagram on the day for live snaps!

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
