Renowned chef Ikuei Arakane is at the reigns of the 29 seat sumibiyaki bar. Well known for his spectacular Japanese cuisine at Koko restaurant in Crown and Taxi in Federation Square.

Sumibiyaki is relatively rare in Melbourne, in comparison to the abundance of Japanese food on offer. Differing to yakitori, Japanese grilled meat on skewers, sumibiyaki literally means charcoal grill in Japanese. While both offer grilled meat, it would be mortally insulting to confuse the two.
