Living in the home of the country’s most celebrated races, Melbournians can’t deny that a beautiful hat can be crucial to an outfit.

They are wonderful in theory, but the task of finding the right size and shape and style often proves just plain difficult; especially in a reasonable price range.

Well it looks like there may have been some millinery magic dust blown across the city along with the winter winds, as Kensington Neighbourhood House is offering the opportunity to learn how to create your own headpiece with two new beginners millinery classes.

The three hour classes, under the guidance of Melbourne’s most famous and flamboyant milliner Peter Jago, will teach you how to create unique headpieces for this year’s Spring Carnival, for another special event or even just for your next night on the town.

Peter has worked in the industry for over three decades, winning countless Fashions on the Field competitions, producing hats for the rich and famous and has been inducted into the Australian Millinery Hall of Fame.

Be inspired by his passion and knowledge of the fashion industry and save yourself the hassle of hat-shopping!

All materials for the course will be supplied. Be sure to book early as spaces are strictly limited.
