Here’s how it works: Secret Foodies gives you the theme of the event, but the location is only revealed on the day. You get to see a new part of Melbourne, good food and meet some new peeps. Sort of like Underground Cinema for food and booze.
So far we’ve seen a French Provincial dinner in South Melbourne and Christmas in July in a Collingwood basement. This time the theme is Party like its 1785.
Our sources tell us to expect Marie Antoinette-style excess, cocktails, games of roulette, plenty of champagne and of course cake. It should be fun, even revolutionary. Just don’t lose your head.
Party like it’s 1785 is on Friday 18 October from 6.30pm – 10pm. Tickets $95 includes flowing Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, canapés, sweet treats and entertainment during the event. Tickets secretfoodies.com.au.
