Dune Rats, Drunk Mums, Scotdrakula @ Grace Darling

Once upon a time, rock’n’roll was about partying, not being so serious. The Dune Rats are next weekend re-injecting some of those good times and free spirits (and also beer and wine) back onto the gig scene, with their bouncy, party indy-skate-punk.

On the home stretch of their ‘Smile Tour’ of the US and Australia and just on the back of their SXSW exposure, the Brisbane boys will be well and truly warmed for the intimacy and any potential bad behaviour, as they partner up with Southern cousins Drunk Mums and Scotdrakula for a show at the Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood, that’s likely to evaporate all the starch from every collar, with plumes of moonshine vapour and steaming bong-puddles.

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
