Are you on the fence when it comes to sake? Maybe you think it’s is all about a thin tepid drink in a little clay pot? Nothing could be farther from the truth and to dispel these myths Sake Restaurant and Bar will set you on the path to good sake fortune. This Thursday you can jump to the good side of the sake fence and discover the world of this mighty rice spirit matched with Southern Japanese cuisine.

‘Journey through Japan’ is the first of a series of evenings celebrating all things Japanese with the cuisine of Southern Japan kicking festivities off.  The menu has been put together by Sake head chefs Shaun Presland, Rose Ang and Shinichi Maeda and showcases dishes reflecting the regionality and tradition of Southern Japan such as sashimi, teppan style wagyu and rafute, all complimented by different sake selected from the bar’s 40 plus bottles.

Throughout the year the cuisine of the northern and central regions of Japan will be explored with the evenings held simultaneously at the groups dining rooms in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The best part of this is if you are en route to Tokyo you don’t have to miss out.

Journey through Japan is happening Thursday 21 March at Sake Restaurant and Bar @7pm.
