Let Them Eat Cake

Let Them Eat Cake is a boutique music event that will host some of the world’s best electronic acts that have been the talk of the street for years. This one is for discerning electronic music listeners, those who like to kick back in style.

The event is being held at Werribee Mansion, whose grounds and old-world charm is as about as far from the atmosphere of a nightclub as you can get. Cocktails and food will be available around the gardens.

Onstage there’ll be a wide blend of international acts, hand-picked for their talent and variety. My top picks are Flying Lotus who perform experimental boom-bap, Digital Mystikz (Coki & Mala) who produce original-style dubstep with Cuban influence, and Theo Parrish who is legendary for his soulful house mixing.

There are also plenty of acts playing not often heard in Australia, including Dub Phizix & Strategy MC, Om Unit and H.O.S.H. If you’re not familiar with these guys, I highly suggest you get yourself versed, because they represent the cream of the crop for global contemporary beats.

There’ll also be transport available to and from the mansion, and things will kick off from 11am and turn through until 10:30pm.

Sunshine, mansions, gardens, top acts, cocktails, stylish beats and people on the Melbourne side of Australia, what better way could you spend New Year’s Day?

Let Them Eat Cake is happening on New Year’s Day at Werribee Mansion.

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
