Some things are absolutes: chocolate is delicious, beer tastes better cold, The Astor is the best cinema is Melbourne.
However, this many not always be the case, with the grand dame potentially facing closure if her lease isn’t renewed in 2015. If you’d like to learn more and get involved in protecting this icon visit the Friends of the Astor website.
Local filmmaker Justin Batchelor recently made a short film at The Astor (complete with resident cat Marzipan) and has kindly shared it with us to share with you. Enjoy, and spread the word.
