A LONG TIME AGO…
It’s Star Wars, it’s burlesque, the puns write themselves: The Empire Strips Back, Attack of the Cones, Hand Solo, Jabba the Slut…but I digress. For the first time ever Star Wars Burlesque is coming to Melbourne in a forceful performance after a sold out season in Sydney. If these are the droids you’re looking for get along to The Atheneaum this weekend.

ANTIPODES FESTIVAL
This weekend sees Lonsdale Street become a little slice of Greece with the 2012 Glendi (it’s Greek for party.) While the area nowadays might be more the symbolic rather than the pulsing heart of Melbourne’s Greek Community, this weekend you’d be hard pressed to know. There will be food, cooking demonstrations, and dancing. Pass the ouzo.

SLAM RALLY
WE couldn’t not write about this week, when two years ago when 20,000 people marched through Melbourne to Save Live Australia’s Music (aka SLAM). Every small venue around the trap has been encouraged to register their SLAM event this year and ya’ll should head out in the name of this great cause. So many great venues to see and do. My tip is The UV Race at the Toff in Town.
