These Boots Were Made For Slut Walking
The story goes like this – in January this year Toronto Police Officer Michael Sanguinetti told a personal security class at York University that “women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized. This inspired Sonya Barnett to organise a protest march where women were encouraged to dress however they wanted. The thing went viral and now we have one in Melbourne. This Saturday at the State Library women who like to dress slutty and those who support their right to do so without being victimised will create a public spectacle and reopen an age old debate. BYO cup of Milo.

NGV 150th Birthday Party
This weekend the NGV will open their doors till late with free activities, the launch of the new NGV Kid’s Space and from 7:30pm – midnight performances from Combo La Revelaction, Dan Sultan and The Bamboos. Two for one NGV Memberships are also on offer.

Puffing Billy
For over 100 years Puffing Billy has been running along the same track from Belgrave to Gembrook in the Dandenong Ranges. You don’t need a myki pass, it runs on time, you can hang out the windows, enjoy the autumnal colors and have a leaf fight at Gembrook Lake. If you’re so inclined, you can even book and experience being the driver for the day. Fares start from $23 return.
